Answers to some common questions about our products
Will the Wike tip over if it hits a curb?
Yes, but you need to be going really fast and the curb has to be large. Some trailers tip easier than others depending on the width of their wheel tracking, height of center of gravity, and hitch construction. Our Moonlite trailer is ranked best for stability by "Bicycling Magazine".
Is the Wike with no options difficult to walk with using the flipped over tow bar as the push bar?
No! It takes some practice and requires your attention to steer but is very easy to use. If you intend to go long distances it is not appropriate. You should upgrade.
What is the difference between the Walker and the Stroller?
The Walker uses the flip over towbar/handle as the push bar for walking and has no parking brakes, the Stroller has a fully adjustable full width push bar and parking brakes.
Can I jog with the Wike?
Yes, the Wike is now suitable for jogging if you purchase the optional jogging kit. The standard Wike trailer design works well for bicycle hikes with a walking component at the end such as to the beach, mall or downtown. Every Moonlite has our standard patented flip over handle to convert it to a hand cart.
Will the trailer flip over if the bicycle falls?
No, there is a flexible hitch between the bicycle and the trailer.
What is the "Helmet Relief Cushion"?
When children are small (ages one to three) their heads (and helmets) are large in comparison to the rest of their bodies. The rear of the trailer seat will push the helmet forward and cause the child's head to be angled forward. The Relief Cushion moves the child's back and shoulders forward 2" to create a space for the helmet to sit. Older children do not generally require this aid.
How old should children be before they ride in a bicycle trailer?
Children should be a minimum of 12 months old. Children must where helmets in bicycle trailers and that requires advanced development of neck muscles to maintain the head erect with a helmet on. We do not recommend the use of car seats for infants.
Can the Wike be seen in a store in my town?
Wike patents (we have 7 and more are pending) are no longer licensed to other brands. Only "Wike" brand products are supported at this site. Wike Products are made by us in Guelph, Canada and only sold online by us.
Why does the Wike cost less money than a Burley?
We sell directly to you, the customer, which allows us to include more features at a lower cost. We think that the Wike is the world's best trailer and at a lower price.
Why is your trailer is the best in the world?
We have tried for ten years to make a product better than Burley. The Wike is fastest to fold, easiest to use, simplest to convert to a stroller, walker, cart or jogger, and is more aerodynamic and stylish. We have the strongest and easiest to use hitch system. We have the most storage space. We have the largest interior and fold the smallest.
